Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 13, 2026 · Last Updated: July 7, 2026
1. Introduction
Pollenflow ("we", "us", or "our") is a Chrome browser extension that lets users save and organize insights from their AI conversations on ChatGPT and Claude. Saved content is stored locally in the user's browser using IndexedDB and is never sent to external servers. We also operate the Pollenflow website (pollenflow.com), which describes the product and links to the Chrome Web Store.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Pollenflow, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Email address — only if you voluntarily email us (for example, a support request or inquiry). The website has no signup or contact form.
- Pro waitlist email — if you choose to join the Pro waitlist from inside the extension (shown when you reach the free plan limit), the email address you enter is sent to and stored on our server so we can notify you when Pro launches. Joining the waitlist is entirely optional.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically (Website)
- Usage and analytics data — page views, button clicks, referral source, and session duration, collected via PostHog.
- Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, screen resolution, and approximate location (country/city level, derived from IP address).
- Cookies — PostHog may set analytics cookies to understand usage patterns. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
2.3 Information Handled by the Chrome Extension
The Pollenflow Chrome extension allows you to save selected content from your AI conversations. This data is stored entirely on your device using your browser's IndexedDB storage. We do not transmit, access, read, or store this content on any server. We have no ability to view your saved content.
The extension does send anonymous usage statistics to PostHog to help us understand how the product is used and improve it — for example, that the extension was installed, a chat was saved, or a book was created. These events are tied to a random anonymous identifier, not to your name, email, or any account. They never include the content of your conversations, your saved snippets, or your email address.
2.4 Extension Usage Events
Separately from the website analytics described in section 2.2, the Chrome extension sends anonymous usage events to PostHog so we can understand whether the extension is being used and which features matter most. These events contain no chat content — only counts and feature-use signals. The events are:
extension_installed— fired once on first install.extension_opened— fired when the side panel is opened.chat_saved— fired when you save a chat. Includes a running count and a first-save flag, never the chat itself.highlight_added— fired when you add a highlight to a saved chat.book_created— fired when you create a book.popup_save_clicked— fired when you trigger a save from the popup.limit_hit_email_submitted— fired when you opt in with your email after hitting a free tier limit.
These events are tied only to a randomly generated anonymous ID stored locally in your browser, never to your chat content or to your personal identity.
2.5 Information We Do Not Collect
- Passwords or authentication credentials
- Payment or financial information
- Phone numbers or physical addresses
- Social media accounts
- Precise geolocation (GPS)
- Biometric data
- Your AI conversations (the extension never reads, scans, or stores conversations unless you explicitly click to save)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To understand how visitors use our website and improve the product (analytics).
- To respond to support requests or inquiries you send us.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, automated decision-making, or selling to third parties.
4. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of third-party services to operate Pollenflow. These providers may process some of the data described above:
- PostHog — product analytics (page views, events, device info).
- Vercel — website hosting (processes standard server logs including IP addresses).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party. We will never share your email address for marketing purposes.
5. Data Security
- All data transmitted between your browser and our website is encrypted via HTTPS.
- Content saved through the Chrome extension is stored locally on your device and never transmitted over any network.
- We limit access to personal data to only those who need it to operate the service.
While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
- Support correspondence — any email you send us is retained until it is no longer needed to assist you, or until you request its deletion.
- Analytics data — retained according to PostHog's default retention policies.
- Extension data — stored on your device. You can delete it anytime by clearing browser data or uninstalling the extension.
7. Cookies
Our website uses analytics cookies set by PostHog to understand visitor behavior and improve the product. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or third-party marketing cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some website functionality.
8. Your Rights
Regardless of where you are located, you have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Deletion — request that we delete any personal data we hold about you.
- Correction — request that we update inaccurate information.
- Opt-out of analytics — you can disable cookies or use browser privacy settings to prevent analytics tracking.

9. Children's Privacy
